Gift Aid Declaration

If you pay UK income tax, please print and complete this declaration and send it with your Membership Form and subscription to the Treasurer:

If you pay UK income tax, you can increase the value of your subscription to the Group (currently by 28%) by completing a Gift Aid Declaration. (Gift Aid replaces old Deed of Covenants.) If you are a taxpayer, signing the Gift Aid Declaration cannot cost you anything. If you pay tax at the higher rate, you can claim higher rate for your subscription on your own tax return.

Notes

  1. You can cancel this declaration at any time by notifying the Scottish Wild Land Group.
  2. You must pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax at least equivalent to the tax that the SWLG reclaims on your donations in the tax year (currently 28p for each £1 you give).
  3. If in the future your circumstances change and you no longer pay tax on your income and capital gains equal to the tax that the SWLG reclaims, you can cancel your declaration (see note 1).
  4. If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim further tax relief in your Self-Assessment tax return.
  5. If you are unsure whether your donations qualify for Gift Aid tax relief, you can contact the SWLG. Or ask your local tax office for leaflet IR113 Gift Aid.
